Well, it's been too long since the last update. Alan, most kind of you to be so understanding. Thank you.
The first thing to do is clean and organize the work area. So how about a few shots of the computer room.
I'm on a temporary work assignment, so I cobbled together some desks out of old doors; and some crude shelving.
Overview of the computer area.
Top-left, P4 3.0 Tower (black)
Top-center, PII333
Right side, workbench
Bottom-left, CableTV
Bottom-center P4 3.33 laptop
Next, second monitor for laptop
Printer and scanner.
The main unit. Toshiba Satellite with a second monitor. If you haven't tried multi-monitors, don't. You'll get hooked. On the right is a LCD TV.
On the left is a tower used as a back-up and experimental PC; multi-boots 3 OS's.
On the right is the bench machine, a PII 333. Used for testing hardware; has an SCSI 50 pin card for testing 4 gig hard drives. :)
On the top two shelves are all Alan's mod parts cleaned and laid out and ready to go.
The workbench.
Next; get it cleaned up.
In the last update, I had replaced the bad switch. Here's a shot of that switch installed. You can see which one is different.
I'm going to the old timey electronics place and get black ones to replace the other three. they look better from the end, and they're very cheap.
