From the left; aluminum angle and self tapping screws to mount the drives; a piece of Cat5e; spiral wrap for wire harness; zip ties; flathead bolts and nuts; and a terminal strip.
The cutting has begun. A hole for the drives, cut and shaped. Nothing to it, but to do it.
I made some pieces to fill the finger hole from the '71.
I just happen to have some multi-purpose plastic glue. I tested it on two scrap pieces.
Closeup of the patch pieces. The next step for this is a little bondo body putty.
A shot of the drives in the hole.
Remember that power supply from the D? I've been in contact with Denny Springle, owner of c64diehards (formerly 8-Bit Designs)
Well, he's promised to hook us up with a replacement supply. We can move the heat of the supply out of our project, and supply power for all our units from one clean source.
We need to support the businesses that support our computers. I have no affiliation with c64diehards.
Edit: Denny turned out to be a jerk, and c64diehards is no more.
